This blend consists of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Petit Verdot grapes from the winery's selected vineyards, which were hand-harvested in a night harvest and transported to the winery before first light. After separating the grapes from the stalks, they first underwent cold maceration and then slow, controlled fermentation. After the extraction of flavors and color was complete, the wine was settled and each variety was aged separately in new French oak barrels for 18 months. The winemaker selected the seven best barrels from which he made a blend. The wine then went back into the barrels for an additional 6 months, after which it was bottled with only light filtration. The wine was aged in bottles for an additional period in the winery's cellars in order to achieve the best balance of flavors.
